Procedures and Timeline:
August/September
- Once committee is established, communicate with LHR to find out when UL would be available for the two workshops in October.
- Check with LHR regarding the number of candidates up for review to determine appropriate room size. Reserve room and set dates for the workshops.
- Contact Library IT for A/V needs.
- Get Committee binder from previous year's chair for samples.
September
- Publicize the workshop dates to the LAUC-LA membership; forward copy of message to LHR.
- Confirm refreshments with the Committee on Programs.
- Committee meets to decide on structure and content of the workshops.
- Invite/confirm any other speakers for the workshops (LHR reps, any RIs who'll be presenting).
- Schedule brown bag(s) to be held one or two weeks after the workshops. Invite/confirm speakers for the brown bag(s).
October
- Committee finalizes content of the workshps.
- Send out workshop reminder to LAUC-LA membership; forward copy of message to LHR.
- Prepare attendance sheet and any handouts for the workshops.
- Hold the workshops.
- Provide copies of the attendance sheets to LHR and Committee on Programs.
- Publicize brown bags to the LAUC-LA membership; forward copy of message to LHR.
November
- Send thank you notes to the workshop presenters and chair of the Committee on Programs.
- Update content in the LAUC-LA Handbook LibGuide.
- Prepare the Committee Mid-year/Final Report (prior to the LAUC-LA Spring membership meeting).
