Ashes and Diamonds (dir. Andrzej Wajda, 1958).

"In this incendiary environment we find Home Army soldier Maciek Chelmicki, who has been ordered to assassinate an incoming commissar. But a mistake stalls his progress and leads him to Krystyna, a beautiful barmaid who gives him a glimpse of what his life could be."

The Double Life of Veronique (dir. Krzysztof Kieślowski, 1991).

"Irène Jacob is incandescent as both Weronika, a Polish choir soprano, and her double, Véronique, a French music teacher. Though unknown to each other, the two women share an enigmatic, emotional bond, which Kieślowski details in gorgeous reflections, colors, and movements."

The film was nominated for the Palm d'Or and Irene Jacob won the award for Best Actress at the 1991 Cannes Film Festival.

Three Colors: White (dir. Krzysztof Kieślowski, 1993) 

"The hapless hairdresser opts to leave Paris for his native Warsaw when his wife sues him for divorce (her reason: their marriage was never consummated) and then frames him for arson after setting her own salon ablaze."

United States of Love (dir. Tomasz Wasilewski, 2016)
