A brief study of the histories, legacies, and impacts at the intersection of systemic racism and planning in Florence-Firestone. Partnership between UCLA City Lab and the County of Los Angeles Department of Regional Planning.

This map shows locations and details of the nearly 300,000 arrests the Los Angeles Police Department made between 2019 and 2022. Users can navigate the map and filter by race, Council District, LAPD Division, and arrest type. The data was obtained from the Los Angeles Police Department, but marks the first time the data has been made accessible and mapped for the public without limitations. Arrests are triggered by allegations of criminal acts that may or may not have occurred.

Mapping database of areas described by the United States Home Owners' Loan Corporation between 1935 and 1940. Note phrases such as "infiltration" and "hazardous" to indicate areas with relatively higher numbers of minority residents, therefore "redlined" and deemed too risky to grant mortgage loans to residents.
