French poetry is a large subgenere of French literature, which encompasses many different themes and periods throughout history. This section aims to highlight some of the major French poets in the past 600 years. Selections were made based on popularity, cultural significance, and availability in the UCLA Library collection. While this section is not exhaustive of all French poetry, it should provide a starting place for learning about the form and subgenre.
