Full text of core scholarly journals from their beginning to approximately five years ago. Disciplines include botany, business, ecology, general science, humanities, mathematics, social sciences, statistics. Browsable by discipline and full-text searchable across all disciplines. UCLA has access to selected JSTOR e-books.
Many general and subject specific databases can be used to locate images in periodicals or other publications. In addition to the databases listed below, consider reviewing the list of Databases by Subject.

Print indexes help locate reproductions of images in books and periodicals. Examples include:
In the UCLA Library Catalog, to limit searches to illustrated books, go to the Advanced Search page, enter a subject search term, then type the keyword "illustrations" in the second search box.
Subjects used in the library catalog to describe illustrated books often include the terms 'pictorial works'. Examples:
Graphic arts -- Pictorial works
Commercial art -- Pictorial works
To find representations of particular subjects in art, the library subject headings include 'in art'. Examples:
