Data Literacy for Researchers

An introductory guide to finding, analyzing, and communicating data in the research process.

UCLA Data Research Support

Here are some key UCLA resources that provide data support across disciplines.

Resource Disciplines & Subjects Services

UCLA Library Data Science Center (DSC)

The DSC aims to support researchers throughout the full data life cycle and can help with more computationally intensive research. Send them a question or set up an appointment by topic or team specialist.

  • Geospatial data (GIS)
  • Coding

UCLA Library Subject Specialists

Within their specialized area of study, subject librarians are capable of providing assistance at all steps of research, and there are subject librarians available for a wide variety of disciplines.

UCLA DataSquad

Managed by the DSC, The UCLA DataSquad is a team of students who provide both short-term and long-term support for data-related projects.
