Introduction and Scope

This guide was created in the 2024-2025 school year by UCLA Arts Library Research Assistant Riona Tsai. The scope of this guide includes Bollywood films, film industry, and film culture, including books, articles, moving image collections, and more. The landscape of Indian cinema is varied and vast, but this guide will primarily focus on resources on the Bollywood film industry (Hindi language films primarily based in Mumbai, formerly known as Bombay).
