Overdrive & Libby
OverDrive is a platform for ebooks and audiobooks. Materials can be read via your computer, an app called Libby, or on a Kindle.

UCLA Library offers a curated collection of e-books and audiobooks from OverDrive, and current issues of selected popular press magazines. Materials may be accessed through UC Library Search, UCLA’s OverDrive portal, or through the Libby app, which allows readers to use materials across their personal devices and offline.
- Libby by Overdrive (app)Borrow ebooks and audiobooks from Overdrive to easily read on your phone or tablet using the free Libby app. You can also send and read your borrowed ebooks to your Kindle e-reader (U.S. only).
Getting Started
The free Libby app is the easiest way to read ebooks and audiobooks available from OverDrive. To get started:
1. Download and install the app on your android or iOS device.
2. In Libby, follow the prompts to find UCLA Library and sign in with the UCLA Single Sign-On credentials. (Tip: You can set up more than one library card in Libby! Use the app to search for other libraries, such as your local public library.)
3. Browse the digital collection and borrow a title!
4. If a title is not available, you can place a hold. After you place a hold, view your spot in line by going to your Shelf, tapping Holds, then tapping Wait List.
