As part of integrative medicine, East-West medicine is used to improve health, well being, and the quality of life of people by blending the best of Modern Western Medicine with Traditional Chinese Medicine (including acupuncture and moxibustion, herbs and other natural products, and massage and manipulation), as well as other oriental medicine to provide healthcare that is safe, effective, affordable and accessible for people, families and communities.

UCLA Center for East-West Medicine
The Center was established in 1993 with a vision to provide healthcare that is safe, effective, affordable, and accessible through the integration of the best of Chinese medicine with Western medicine.
UCLA Collaborative Centers for Integrative Medicine (CCIM)
As a campus-wide program committed to the study and application of integrative medicine, CCIM sponsors education, facilitates research and promotes appropriate practice of complementary, alternative, and mind-body medicine.
