OARC’s GIS and Visualization Research Technology Group (RTG) currently provides the following services related to geospatial information systems (GIS) and extended reality (XR):

• General consulting and mentoring for faculty research projects that involve GIS, XR, real-time modeling, project management and technology scoping
• GIS and XR training and troubleshooting
• Research project workstations and facilities through the Technology Sandbox
• Campus GIS coordination
• Campus partnership development, specifically for north campus cyberinfrastructure research services

They offer leadership and services to the UCLA campus community covering a variety of GIS and XR technologies, including:

• Training and workshops
• Project consulting 
• Computer lab space. The Technology Sandbox is fully equipped with high-end computers running GIS, 3D modeling and software for approved research projects. 
• Email support. OARC partners with the Data Science Center, Humanities Technology, QCBio, the Digital Research Consortium and the Library to triage more routine problems and to help find the support you need. Software Central serves the UCLA community by negotiating, acquiring, implementing, distributing, managing and supporting campus-wide agreements for the software products and services commonly used in support of UCLA's teaching, research and public service missions.

Software Central (SoftwareCentral@ucla.edu) provide access to downloading old versions of ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Desktop.
