Request in UC Library Search is available for interlibrary loans from other libraries outside of UCLA, and for paging and pickup of titles held at SRLF (Southern Regional Library Facility) and Arts Library Storage. Page and pickup request (reserving/placing a hold in advance, or delivering to a different location) is not available for titles held in UCLA Library locations that are on the open shelves. More information about checking out a book is available on the Library website

To request items through UC Library Search, make sure to login to My Library Account first. If you aren't logged in, you'll be prompted to login when you look at the "How to get it" information on the item you're hoping to request. UCLA students, faculty, and staff may login to their Library Account by clicking on 'UCLA Users' and then entering their SSO UCLA Logon. All other users should select 'Community Users.' If it is your first time logging in, enter your library card number for both the username and the password. You will then be prompted to reset the password. Community users must obtain a free access-only or fee card before requesting page and pickup.

Once you login, you'll see the request options for the item.

For materials from SRLF or Arts Library items with the location status "(Request Only) Arts Storage," you can choose the request option to request for Page & Pickup.

For articles and books not held at UCLA, you'll see the option to Request through Interlibrary Loan.

If the item is held by another UC, you can choose to pick it up at UCLA or directly from another UC Library. When you click Request through Interlibrary Loan, you'll be presented with an auto-filled form to complete to request the specific item you're viewing.
