Guide Overview

This Engineering 185 guide is meant to be a jumping off point for your research, note that it is not comprehensive. Please provide feedback by emailing the 185 librarian (see contact info below).

This guide deals with science and technology tools and resources; for business-related information (including industry and market research) take a look at the complementary libguide Business Information for Engineers by Michael Oppenheim.

For tips on doing research, evaluating sources, and citing sources, check out the advice guides and Citing Sources.

Remember your friendly SEL librarians are happy to provide additional research assistance.

VPN & Proxy Tutorials

The Library's online subscription resources can always be accessed from computers and wireless networks on campus. However, off-campus access is restricted to current UCLA, students, faculty, and staff who have set up their computer using one of the methods below. Click on the other tabs to see how four Bruins got their computers set up and ready to go for remote access!

If you still need help, you can contact the UCLA IT Support Center at (310) 267-4357 or help@it.ucla.edu. They provide 24/7 phone support.
