The Library subscribes to a number of full text play collections, where you may also locate monologues and scenes of interest. If connecting from off-campus and using library-subscribed resources, make sure your computer is configured and logged into the campus VPN or proxy server. Many of the individual play titles in these collections will come up in UC Library Search by author or title. However, the databases often have expanded keyword searching/filtering options, and New Play Exchange titles should be searched in the database itself.
DT+ includes streaming video of plays, dance, and performances produced on the contemporary British and American stage, interviews with professional practitioners and masterclasses on technique, study guides on classic works, and pedagogical guides for the classroom and theater production.
UCLA subscribes to about 1200 e-books on this site, mostly in the social sciences, humanities, and business. Full downloading requires creation of an EBSCOhost account.
Published plays from throughout the English-speaking world, covering the history of modern drama from the 1890s to the present day.
The Library's online subscription resources can always be accessed from computers and wireless networks on campus. However, off-campus access is restricted to current UCLA, students, faculty, and staff who have set up their computer using one of the methods below. Click on the other tabs to see how four Bruins got their computers set up and ready to go for remote access!
If you still need help, you can contact the UCLA IT Support Center at (310) 267-4357 or help@it.ucla.edu. They provide 24/7 phone support.
