Digital exhibitions showcase photographs from the MoCP permanent collection that have been selected by artists, curators, cultural producers, educators, and students often in response to the current exhibition on view.

In this volume, Anne Lacoste offers an ample overview of Beato’s career, tracing his development as a photographer and situating his work within the historical context of late-nineteenth-century Asia; sidebar texts illuminate such subjects as Beato’s masterful technique and his innovative Japanese albums.

Moving Walls is an annual exhibition series that explores a variety of social justice and human rights issues through documentary practice, and is produced by Open Society’s Culture and Art program. Moving Walls is exhibited at our offices in New York, London, and Washington, D.C., and includes five to nine discrete bodies of work.

PhMuseum is a curated platform dedicated to contemporary photography. Since 2012 we have been focused to find innovative ways to display photography, engage, educate, and connect. Thanks to this approach we have been pioneering online exhibition, with the first one launched in 2013, and online education, launched in 2017.
