Wikimedia Projects

The Wikimedia foundation supports a number of other projects in addition to Wikipedia, and all of them are freely editable by anyone. There are links to some of those initiatives below, and you can find the complete list at http://www.wikimedia.org/.

Wiktionary
A collaborative project to produce a free-content multilingual dictionary that aims to describe all words of all languages using definitions and descriptions in English.
Designed as the lexical companion to Wikipedia, Wiktionary has grown beyond a standard dictionary and now includes a thesaurus, a rhyme guide, phrase books, language statistics and extensive appendices. Etymologies, pronunciations, sample quotations, synonyms, antonyms and translations are included, when available.
Wikiquote
Online compendium of sourced quotations from notable people and creative works in every language, translations of non-English quotes, and links to Wikipedia for further information.
Wikisource
Online library of free-content texts.
Wikispecies
Free species directory that anyone can edit, covering Animalia, Plantae, Fungi, Bacteria, Archaea, Protista and all other forms of life.
Wikidata
Free knowledge base that can be read and edited by humans and machines alike. It centralizes access to and management of structured data, such as interwiki references and statistical information.
Wikimedia Commons
Public domain and freely-licensed images, sound, and video. Note the ability to browse by classification (topics, locations, media type, and more!) in addition to keyword searching.
Wikivoyage
Worldwide travel guide that anyone can edit.
