Hate Studies

Data through 2019 on the number of incidents, offenses, victims, and offenders in reported crimes that were motivated in whole or in part by a bias are available in the annual Hate Crime Statistics publication. The types of bias motivations captured include those against the victim’s perceived race, gender identity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or ethnicity/national origin as well as bias crimes committed by or directed toward juveniles.

Current interface for the FBI's data on multiple topics, including Hate Crimes and data published since 2019. This interface replaces the old FBI Hate Crimes dataset page. The dataset can be limited to only Hate Crime data by using the limiter.

The Bureau of Justice Statistic's National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) is the nation's primary source of information on criminal victimization.

Anti-Defamation League (ADL) H.E.A.T. Map (Hate, Extremism, Antisemitism, Terrorism) is the first-of-its-kind interactive and customizable map detailing specific incidents of hate, extremism, antisemitism and terrorism by state and nationwide. This interactive map lets you read details on specific incidents, better understand tactics extremists use, compare activity by type and/or state and access and download raw data.

This database from the Anti-Defamation League provides an overview of many of the symbols most frequently used by a variety of white supremacist groups and movements, as well as some other types of hate groups.

This page catalogues datasets annotated for hate speech, online abuse, and offensive language.
