Below are some resources that serve as good starting places for locating images. Many of them are more focused on fine arts, though some contain historic photographs and archival resources as well. Note that some resources require off-campus access privileges.

Contains thousands of high-quality images, and is particularly strong in art history. Off-campus users must access this resource using the VPN.
- Digital Archives of the Polo Museale FiorentinoThis resource features eight databases created to provide access to the artworks and historical collections of Florentine galleries. Current databases include a catalog and inventory of artworks, a photograph archive, a historical archive, a hymnals archive, an archive of artworks damage during the flood, the Carocci archive, the Medici treasures project, and the Euploos project.
- Flickr CommonsA free public collection of photographs from major photography archives. Contributors include the Library of Congress, the Smithsonian Institution, and more.
- Google ImagesSearches images available via Google, of mixed size and quality.

Links images to related entries, covering major artists, periods, and styles.
- Web Gallery of ArtProvides access to over 29.000 reproductions of European painting and sculpture of the Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Neoclassicism, Romanticism periods (1000-1850). The resource also includes picture commentaries, artist biographies, guided tours, and period music.
