UCLA Subscription Resources

  • Dynamed
    Mobile app available iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch, Android, Blackberry, and other mobile devices. Requires installation of free Skyscape app and a Dynamed serial number. To obtain a serial number, send an e-mail request to dynamedsupport@ebscohost.com. Please include your full name, the name of your institution, and the type of device you are using. A serial number will be emailed to you within 24 hours.
  • mobileMicromedex
    To access the mobile-enhanced website from any device, obtain the username and password, updated quarterly, from the link above. Apps also available for PalmOS, Pocket PC, and iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch. See the link above for required usernames and passwords for apps.
  • DSM-IV-TR via Psychiatry Online
    eBooks available through Psychiatry Online are available to download and view through Mobipocket Reader Desktop 6.0, available for Palm, Windows Mobile, Blackberry, and Symbian. Then download the file and open using the instructions found here.
  • VisualDx Mobile
    Mobile app available for iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch and Android. Click the link titled Get VisualDX Mobile Free and enter your information. You will receive an email with a username and password and instructions about how to download the app for your device.
  • UpToDate Mobile
    The popular patient care tool offers a mobile-enhanced site with a cleaner interface that's easier to use with mobile devices. For full access, configure your mobile device through the BOL VPN.
  • Web of Science Mobile
    The mobile-enhanced version of the site offers the same search features and full-text download as the full site, formatted for your mobile device. For full access, configure your mobile device through the BOL VPN or log in with a free Web of Science account.

    An all-in-one, mobile guide to drugs, diseases, and diagnostics.
  • NCBI Bookshelf
    In collaboration with authors and publishers, the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) is adapting biomedical books for the Web. Selected books from the Bookshelf are available to download and view through Mobipocket Reader Desktop 6.0, available for Palm, Windows Mobile, Blackberry, and Symbian.
  • PubMed Mobile
    Make searching PubMed on your mobile device easier by using the mobile-enhanced version of the site. To access full text articles through UCLA's subscriptions, configure your mobile device through the BOL VPN.
  • PubMed Mobile Pro app (Android)
    Available for download from the Amazon Android Store for $2.99, this Android app allows users to use advanced search and limits functions to search PubMed. A free version is also available.
  • PubMed on Tap (iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch)
    This app, available for $2.99 from the iTunes Store, allows users to perform advanced searches in PubMed and can be configured to work with the BOL proxy for downloading full-text articles. The free version, PubMed on Tap Lite, limits the number of citations that users can download.
