Literature in Library Special Collections

Nineteenth-Century Literature

European and American holdings are primarily representative, where researchers will find works by the major writers.  More comprehensive collections are held of the works by Richard Henry Dana, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Arthur Rimbaud, and Herman Melville.  The Michael Sadleir Collection of fine bindings contains books by the most significant British novelists of the period.
