E-books at UCLA

A guide to e-book collections at UCLA Library, including information about scope and use.

Internet-Enabled Mobile Devices

  • Most mobile devices with a web browser and internet access will be compatible. To access e-books on your mobile device, open your web browser and follow the instructions under the Searching for E-books tab.
  • The majority of the UCLA Library's e-books are available via PDF. This means you can either read them directly from your web browser or favorite PDF reader. Also, depending on UCLA Library's agreement with the publisher, you may be able to download to e-book to your mobile device.
  • Books and audiobooks available from OverDrive can be conveniently read on the Libby app.

Other Mobile Devices

If your mobile device does not have a web browser or internet access, you can still download the PDFs onto a computer and then transfer them to your mobile device.

Links to instructions for transferring PDFs are provided below for selected devices. Please consult the manufacturer's user guide for more information.
