Film and Television 106B: European Film History

Using Reference Sources

Reference books are intended to give researchers a starting place on a topic, and are typically in the form of encyclopedias, dictionaries, companions, and biographical resources. If you are unsure of where to start or want to learn more about a specific topic or director, reference materials can be very helpful. Materials housed in Library reference collections must be used in the building and cannot be checked out.

Online Film and Television Reference

Use these reference books to provide an overview of your topic, define terms, and list recommended readings. If connecting from home, make sure your computer is configured for off-campus access.
