Locate Articles

Use UCLA-only and UC-only article databases while off campus

Set up your browser for the Bruin OnLine (BOL) proxy or VPN. All you need is your UCLA ID and password and an Internet connection.

Use UC - eLinks to help locate copies of articles

Click on UC-eLinks icon in your search results to find a link to an online copy, OR a link to the UCLA Library Catalog (to search for a paper copy).

If you cannot get an online or a paper copy of your article or book chapter, click on REQUEST in UC-eLinks, and fill out the form.

The UCLA Library will get you a copy for FREE, mount it on a web page and email you the url, usually within 2 days to a week.

Warning: If you go directly to a journal publisher's website to request a copy of an article, you may need to pay for articles you can get for free through the UCLA Library.

Identify Useful Articles

Article databases are key resources for identifying scholarly journal articles related to your research.
