Film and Television

General Sites Online

In addition to the online resources provided by the Library, these freely available internet sites can also be helpful for gathering information on a topic.

Online Film and Television Reference

Use these reference books to provide an overview of your topic, define terms, and list recommended readings. If connecting from home, make sure your computer is configured for off-campus access.

Additional Print Reference Tools

The UCLA Library owns many reference books of interest to film and television researchers. While some are available online, many more are still accessed primarily in print on the library shelves. Below are some examples--search the UCLA Library Catalog for additional copies on campus.

Dictionaries

While general dictionaries are useful for basic definitions, there are also a number geared specifically to film, television, and media studies concepts. Most of these are not available online, though there may be additional copies in other UCLA Libraries or available for circulation.
